Year Four is fun, interesting, challenging and inspiring.
We are excited to continue developing your independence and resilience this academic year as you continue to become more responsible for yourselves and the school community.
We have high expectations and you will be encouraged to work to your highest potential.
In Year 4 we cover lots of exciting topics and do amazing practical activities especially in reading, science and RE.
The first term is always busy as we all look forward to new beginnings. You will be introduced to your new class artist, Andy Goldsworthy, and I am sure you will be inspired by his artwork.
You will also be reading a collection of books written by class author, Beverley Naidoo. One of your topics studied in Year 4 is- Welcome to Africa, and is from your Reading text, African Tales.
Unique to Year 4 is our weekly times tables competition. Pupils in Year 4 are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12 by heart, so we develop various fun activities to learn these times tables.
Taking time out to learn your multiplication tables will really help you to succeed.
With school and home working together, I know you will have a very successful and rewarding year.
