Our Vision
Our vision at St Anthony's is to create a healthy, happy, inspiring and safe learning environment, which promotes high achievement and mutual respect, within a Christian ethos.
The school community will be strengthened through celebrating the Sacraments and liturgies of the Church’s year.
All will be encouraged and supported to develop a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer.
Our Values
Inspired by the Gospel and following a consultation with our entire school community in 2025, we have established our core values:
Love, Faith, Resilience
These values are deeply rooted in Catholic Social Teaching (CST), which calls us to uphold human dignity, seek justice, and serve the common good.
By living out these values, we ensure that our school community reflects Christ’s love and teachings in everything we do.
Love
In our school love goes beyond affection—it is an active choice to care for others, treat everyone with dignity, and serve selflessly. Jesus taught us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34).
This love is expressed in the way we support one another, build a welcoming and inclusive community, and show kindness and compassion to all, especially those in need.
At St Anthony’s, love is at the heart of our relationships, ensuring that each member of our school family feels valued and supported.
Jesus taught us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34).
Faith
Faith is at the centre of everything we do at St Anthony’s.
It is the foundation of our school community, shaping our ethos, guiding our actions, and inspiring us to live according to the teachings of Christ.
Faith is more than belief; it is a way of life—a trust in God that gives us strength, purpose, and direction. Faith is also expressed through service.
Jesus calls us to put our faith into action by loving and serving others, particularly those in need.
At St Anthony’s, we encourage our children to be disciples of Christ through acts of kindness, charity, and a commitment to justice and peace.
Resilience
Resilience is the ability to persevere through challenges, trusting in God’s strength and guidance.
The Bible reminds us of the importance of resilience:
- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
- “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
At St Anthony’s, we encourage our pupils to develop resilience by embracing difficulties with courage, learning from setbacks, and growing in faith.
Through prayer, perseverance, and the support of our school community, we help children build the confidence and determination they need to navigate life’s challenges.
Resilience also prepares our pupils to stand up for what is right, defend the vulnerable, and work for justice, inspired by the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable—a key principle of Catholic Social Teaching.
Why are values important?
Values provide a moral and spiritual foundation for our school community.
They help to shape our character, influence our choices, and create a shared understanding of how we treat one another.
In a Catholic school, values are not just words but principles that guide our actions and reflect our commitment to living as disciples of Jesus.
By embedding our values in all aspects of school life, we create an environment where children grow in faith, develop strong moral character, and prepare to contribute positively to society.
